N° 95 - THE COLOR OF MOROCCO

featuring Paul Dramard

Majorelle blue. It was named after the French artist Jacques Majorelle, who in 1924 constructed the famous Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech, and painted everything from the walls, the fountains and the adjoining villa the same local shade of intense and vibrant blue. It’s a hue that somehow manages to combine a warmth and freshness. This photo is a wink to jet-set bohemians Talitha & John Paul Getty, style icons who came to be the blueprint for what we consider hippy luxe – to the inner fashion world if not to the general public. Talitha, a stylish, bohemian “molasses-blond” said at the time “Everyone looks beautiful in Marrakech.“ And the same goes for Paul spotted in Christian Roth mirrored sunglasses.
